Dr. Schmidt graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine in Hanover, Germany in 2002. After doing a doctoral degree on Vascular Biology & Tumour Angiogenesis he completed an ECVIM-CA residency in small animal oncology in the United Kingdom (VRCC). Since 2010 he is an EBVS® European Specialist in Veterinary Oncology (Diplomate ECVIM-CA (oncology)) and holds a certificate in small animal internal medicine. Since 2010 he works as senior consultant oncologist and head of medical oncology at the Veterinary Clinic Hofheim in Hofheim, Germany. He lectures internationally on small animal oncology & cytology and co-authored several textbooks. As a part-time coach, corporate trainer and business and health-care mediator he also teaches conflict management and communication skills in emotionally charged contexts to vets and non-vets.
